Campaign Number: 25V546
Exterior Lighting System, Body Control Module
Water may enter the body control module and cause a loss of communication with the exterior lighting, including the license plate light, side marker, and tail lights. These vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108. Water intrusion can lead to corrosion of the body control module, preventing proper operation of required signal lamps and creating a safety hazard at night or in low visibility conditions.
Source: NHTSA Official DataLoss of exterior lighting functions including license plate light, side marker lights, and tail lights increases the risk of a crash, as other drivers may not be able to see the vehicle at night or in low visibility conditions. This failure violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108.
Dealers will inspect and seal the body seams as necessary. Dealers will also inspect the body control module for corrosion and replace it if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification began September 1, 2025, with remedy availability expected first quarter 2026.
