Recall Summary

Over time, the cylinder head cover screw(s) may loosen on certain 2022-2024 Audi Q5 and Q5 Sportback Quattro vehicles, allowing engine oil to leak from the cylinder head cover screw hole(s). Manufacturing optimizations were implemented in May 2024 to address this issue. If the engine oil comes into contact with certain hot parts of the engine, a fire could occur, presenting a significant safety risk.

Safety Consequence

Potential Safety Risk

Engine oil leaks from a loose cylinder head cover screw can contact hot engine components, potentially causing an engine fire. Early leaks may be difficult to detect, but in advanced cases with a hot engine, an unpleasant odor or smoke may appear in the engine compartment. This represents a serious fire risk.
