Fuel System, High Pressure Fuel Pump
Biodiesel deposits may form on the pump drivetrain roller components of the Bosch CP4 RP7 diesel high-pressure fuel pump, which could lead to failure of the high pressure fuel pump introduced during the 2020 model year. This failure could cause a loss of drive power and increase the risk of a crash. The issue affects Ford's Super Duty and Medium Truck vehicles equipped with this pump variant.
Source: NHTSA Official DataFailure of the high pressure fuel pump due to biodiesel deposits can result in loss of drive power, potentially causing the vehicle to stall on roadways or lose power during acceleration, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will update the powertrain control module (PCM) software, free of charge. The software update addresses the pump drivetrain roller conditions and prevents fuel pump failure.
Important: All recall repairs are performed free of charge, even if your vehicle warranty has expired. Contact your local Ford dealer to schedule an appointment.
